Former Clash guitarist Mick Jones “a prominent figure in the punk rock movement of the seventies and eighties, opened his Rock-n-Roll Public Library in London yesterday.” The library is, technically, an art exhibit, fyi. More about Jones in this Telegraph article. [ellareads]

Hi Jessamyn,
I would disagree that this is “technically” an art exhibit, even though he calls it that himself at one point. Jones let’s people ‘use’ the collection — handle items, read them, even scan them. The first instantiation of this was in a gallery space, but the new space is not. I think it is good that Jones wanted to pull together a collection that would get people to think and thought to call it a ‘library.’ I wish more people did.
